A Chance to Catch My Breath...

These past few days have been awesome. I’m so incredibly exhausted. I’m going on about 15 hours of sleep since Wednesday, and finally have a moment to catch up with things. Move-in seemed surreal. I feel like just minutes ago i was with my parents saying goodbye. (And yes, I cried :/). Everything after that has been moving at lightening speed. Where the time goes in college, I honestly couldn’t even begin to tell you how this time is flying by for me. But thus far, I’ve learned a few things. I went from standing on the side of the road with my stuff, clueless, confused, and terrified, to excited, optimistic, and still spinning in circles on the green trying to find my way back to my dorm. But I’ve had a few life lessons so far…

1.Never wear heels/wedges. You end up walking a marathon.. leads to sore feet, blisters, and lots of pain. And of course, those wounds carry over to the next day when you need to continue walking the millions of miles all over campus.

2. Should have explored Russell Dining Hall days ago…

3. When you need to wash your face in the bathroom, you need to bring your own towel.

4. Take advantage of the food from the dining hall, and stock up your room.

5. When meeting older people, don’t tell them where you live. It’s an automatic giveaway that you’re the freshman.

6. Remember to turn your phone off vibrate to catch your alarm.

And that’s only the beginning of it all…

John Mayer

The whole celebrity crush thing, is a HORRIBLE phase that I never outgrew. When I was younger it was N*SYNC.. I loved Lance Bass lol. I mean go figure he’s gay now, but when you’re 8, and you’re surrounded by thousands of other girls at their concert screaming “Here We Go” it’s almost hard to not completely fall in love with them. The good news is, that after N*SYNC’s break up, my obsession faded with them as well. And after many concerts later, and losing my voice at all of them up until last week, I had never screamed, or acted like I did back in my “N*SYNC Days.” Since N*SYNC I’ve obviously had my favorite celebrities.. but nothing compared to my love for Lance Bass since I started really getting into John Mayer. Since my freshman year of high school I’ve loved his music.. and not to mention I think he’s completely sexy. While most people think of him as a jerk in the media, i still can’t help but love him. I shamelessly will admit that yes, I read his blog, and have for years.. have your body is a wonderland as my #1 played song on my iTunes, and have a poster of him hanging in my room. (So yes, I should be ashamed of myself.) But every year my mother and I go to his concerts. I will spend hundreds on a ticket just to get as close to him as I can in concert. And yes I’m a total loser for going with my Mom, but hey she pays, and no one ever will pay  what I want to to see him in a concert. This year my Mom finally caught on to me mooching off of her for concerts, and told me I was on my own to pay. So $95.00 later, it’s one of my most favorite days of the year.. THE JOHN MAYER CONCERT AT THE COMCAST CENTER!..so the show was obviously great.. but during his encore my friend and I tried to get closer to the aisle. John was playing in the lawn, and we were in the seats down below. The security guard started yelling at everyone to get away from the aisle… I then knew, why else would we have to stay in our seats if John Mayer wasn’t going to walk RIGHT next to me! I didn’t think I was still capable of screaming like I was for N’SYNC, but it was truly an uncontrollable, embarrassing noise that took over me screaming “Oh MY God, John Mayer!!.” I literally pushed my way through the crowd to get a double high five from him. And almost a week later, I still can’t stop thinking about it.
